Marsh Advisory's Claim Consulting Practice provides risk management consultation to global leaders in retail, healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, financial, and hospitality industries. Our consulting practice regularly engages with Fortune 500 companies to solve for the most complex of casualty claim issues.

We are hiring for a CA Workers' Compensation Consultant. This is a hybrid position and will require 3 days in office.

We Will Count On You To

  • Collaborate with TPAs, Carriers and Clients to achieve efficient claim resolutions
  • Leverage your problem-solving skills to identify pivotal issues and strategies to move a claim to resolution
  • Maintain ultimate responsibility for quality of all work deliverables assigned and collaborate with project and practice team members
  • Leverage your advanced knowledge of industry trends around claims, insurance and risk management to develop actionable insights into a client's claims and risk management environment
  • Challenge existing practices and drives innovative solutions in order to achieve quality, compliance, and performance optimization within the consulting practice.


What you Need to Have

  • BA/BS degree in related discipline or equivalent insurance/claims experience
  • 5 + years of significant industry experience in CA Workers' Compensation claims, including complex and litigated claims
  • Possess a familiarity of jurisdictional laws, and knowledge of processes necessary to resolve open claims
  • Expertise in claim management strategies including strategies to promote early claim resolution and settlement


What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Possess deductive reasoning skills and prior experience in the evaluation of challenging claim situations and environments, as well as the development of successful solutions to address
  • Experience in RMIS as an end-user in a claim environment
  • 2+ years in a Team Lead, Account Services or leadership role in claims for an employer, carrier or claim administrator
  • Expertise in both an Insured and Self-Insured claim administration and requirements
  • Prior success and experience operating in a fast-paced environment managing competing priorities
  • Capabilities in demonstrating complex concepts and outcomes visually via Excel or PowerPoint and to be able to demonstrate experience in working with senior leaders

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $60,000 to $128,100.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
