Job Description

Contra is looking for a skilled Web Developer to support us on a 4-month project focused on building and maintaining high-performance websites. If you’re experienced in front-end and/or back-end development, care deeply about clean code, and can create seamless, responsive user experiences—we’d love to work with you.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, optimize, and maintain responsive websites and web apps
• Collaborate with designers to bring UI/UX concepts to life
• Write clean, scalable, and efficient code
• Ensure cross-browser and mobile compatibility
• Troubleshoot and debug performance issues
• Stay current with modern web development practices and tools

What We’re Looking For

• Solid experience as a Web Developer with a strong portfolio
• Proficiency in JavaScript, and a modern front-end framework (React, Vue, or Angular)
• Experience with back-end technologies (Node.js, Python, PHP, etc.)
• Familiarity with databases (SQL, Firebase, MongoDB, etc.)
• Strong understanding of SEO and website performance optimization
• Comfortable working independently and delivering on deadlines

Nice to have

• Experience with headless CMSs, Webflow, or WordPress
• Familiarity with API integrations and third-party services
• Experience deploying to platforms like AWS, Vercel, or Netlify
