A leader in the specialty ingredients segment, is seeking a Vice President of Sales and Marketing, who can bring their leadership and skill set in Sales, Marketing, and Operations to this position.
In business for over 40 years, this family-owned company specializes in unique products for the foodservice segment across the United States.
The position, located in Los Angeles, CA has three distinct responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales:
- Market visits and Broker training-visit key markets on a regular basis to make local operator, chain and distributor calls plus train broker reps and make sure company is getting representation in the market
- Manage Foodservice Market areas and Regional Sales Representatives directly
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth
- Responsible for the management of website leads and provide samples plus communicate to broker for follow up to close sales
- Manage select National Accounts and Key Accounts
- Responsible for management of Dot Foods program including Digital Marketing and Dot Foods Trade shows
- Manage distributor marketing programs and distributor trade shows
- Communicate with brokers on a monthly bases to review sales results, discuss key sales priorities and provide general direction of sales targets. Set strategy for key priorities
- Analyze market trends and customer feedback to guide product development
- Create broker promotions and incentives to drive attention and focus to company line
Marketing:
- Website-update information and layout, as well as, manage website design, sample leads, etc. to keep site relevant
- Blog articles-create, write, and publish articles each month using SEO consultant to be posted on the company website, Linkedin, Facebook, magazine PR or online, etc.
- Advertising: Manage classified advertising in Trade publications. Manage banner & search engine ads in Google, Dot Foods expressway, Linkedin, etc. (Network Solutions)
- Foodservice Enablers-product information and materials-load all training materials and product information for brokers access through Foodservice enabler: Create training videos and materials. Keep info up to date (cross reference charts, promotions, competitive sheets, etc.).
- Videos-Recipe, plant tour, broker training, product information, etc., -Manage, create, and publish videos on websites, foodservice enabler, and YouTube
- Manage printed brochures & flyers- create, update both electronic and print
- Trademark management-review trademarks every 6 months to make sure no other company is trying to submit or use a name which is similar
- Every 5 years need to work with trademark lawyer to submit samples to maintain registration
- Manage & develop library of product & packaging photos
- Develop budget for sales volume, and marketing expenses
Research and Development:
- Work closely with R&D and Operations on new products & customer custom formulas
- Work with Plant, QA, and R&D on formula or process changes to lower cost, improve formulas or make process/equipment recommendations to improve efficiency
- Work with R&D on package labeling and customer label changes as needed by USA or International Governments
- Sign & review customer audit paperwork for spec sheets, QA documents and compliance paperwork
- Work with Plant, QA, and R&D on any customer complaints, resolutions, and feedback
- Stay up to date on FDA labeling laws, ingredient laws, international label laws and customer trends on new ingredients
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 10+ years’ experience in Foodservice Sales with manufacturing companies, brokers, and distributors
- 5-10 years' management experience managing sales team, marketing, and operation team
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Business and/or Marketing preferred
- Culinary experience a plus
- Broker management experience a plus
- B2B sales experience to industrial accounts, foodservice distributors and national or regional chain account restaurants
- Dual language abilities a plus but not required
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with a diverse group at varied levels
- Skilled in MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other like software
- Required travel 30-50%
- Position is located onsite in Los Angeles, CA

Compensation Range:
$175,000.00-$210,000.00
