Job Description

SEnergy is seeking a full-time Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Pilot to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for field work involving remote sensor data capture (including photogrammetry, LiDAR, etc.), categorizing features, and modeling in PLS-CADD. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Operate UAS for aerial data collection. 
  • Process and analyze data collected from photogrammetry and LiDAR sensors. 
  • Categorize and model features in PLS-CADD. 
  • Ensure all flight operations are conducted in accordance with FAA regulations. 
  • Maintain UAS equipment and perform necessary repairs or upgrades. 
  • Collaborate with GIS and engineering teams to optimize data collection and analysis processes. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Possess FAA Part 107 Certification. 
  • Demonstrated experience operating UAS for professional applications. 
  • Proficiency in photogrammetry and LiDAR data processing. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel for field work. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to categorize and model features accurately. 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Experience with PLS-CADD software. 
  • Familiarity with coordinate systems, including horizontal and vertical datums, as well as understanding the differences between ellipsoid and geoid models. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • A four-year bachelor's degree in GIS, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. However, candidates with a two-year associate degree in a relevant field, coupled with substantial experience, may also be considered. 
  • Experience with performing flights in close proximity to electrical distribution and transmission infrastructure. 
  • In-depth understanding and knowledge of UAS technology and industry trends.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License 
  • Ability to travel working 80% in the field, 20% in the office. Field work will involve traversing difficult and uneven terrain on foot. 
  • Ability to spend 3-5 nights per week in a hotel room. 
  • Ability to use computer systems, enter data, and process information.
