JOIN OUR TEAM AS A STAFF ACCOUNTANT This is a temporary assignment. The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting activities needed to produce accurate and timely financial statements. This position assists the CFO in achieving the facility's financial goals in compliance with facility policies and procedures. Primary Responsibilities - Preparation of journal entries, completion of bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of the facility fixed assets register.
- Analyzes actual-to-budget variance of facility operating expenses.
- Reviews accounts payable coding and aging.
- Serves as backup for bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Participates in monthly accounting close as assigned.
- Assists Controller in production of Monthly Operating Report (MOR).
- Assists Controller in completion of external requests, such as interim and year-end audits, workmans compensation audit, etc.
- Manages petty cash.
- Deposits cash receipts timely and accurately.
- Prepares weekly staffing report.
- Prepares vendor 1099s.
- Completes a variety of clerical projects as assigned.
- Adheres to facility, department, corporate and standard policies and procedures.
- Attends all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled.
- Adheres to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.
- Supports facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.
- Maintains confidentiality of employee and patient information.
Note: The essential job functions of this position are not limited to the duties listed above . Your Experience Matters What We’re Looking For Education: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance preferred. Experience: Two (2) - Five (5) years of experience in accounting and month-end closing activities preferred. Hospital experience preferred. Additional Skills: Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.) preferred. Strong analytical and reconciliation skills necessary.
