Job Description

The Marketing Intern provides support to the marketing department on tasks including market analysis and research on competition, planning webinars and events, creating content, contact database management and many others. This position works closely with the Marketing team to assist with developing, expanding, and maintaining marketing channels within the Firm’s various marketing strategies. The Marketing Intern is an in-office part-time seasonal position based in our Topeka office.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assist in marketing campaign planning and execution.

• Assist in the creation of written, video, and image content for marketing channels.

• Assist with prospect discussions, proposal writing, tracking, and follow-up.

• Assist with trade shows and special events.

• Raise firm profile through activity in community organizations.

• Ability to work hours necessary to meet deadlines for work assigned.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Individuals at this level are normally at least in their junior year of college with a significant concentration in marketing, business, or related field.

• Applied understanding of basic marketing principles.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
• Proficient with the use of MS Office suite.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through both verbal and written skills.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and business ethics, with strong attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to foster effective working relationships across all levels of the Firm.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Canva.
• Experience with video editing applications, such as CapCut.
• Understanding of SEO techniques and best practices.
• A working knowledge of firm products and services.
• Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision.
