Accounting Service Internship Opportunity for our 2025 Summer Season. The dates for this role would be June 2nd- August 30th (dates are flexible).

We are currently seeking a student who wants to learn and develop their accounting skills. We have an excellent internship program where you will learn about accounting processes, compliance and regulations and be able to work on various projects with experienced talented individuals. Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in delivering accounting and payroll related solutions to Smith Schafer clients
• Work with experienced accounting professionals on various accouting and payroll tasks
• Conduct accounting and payroll research to ensure compliance
• Assist senior accountants in processing client payroll, general ledger entries, bank reconcilliations, and understanding financial statements
• Learn how to use accounting and payroll software applications
• Learn about the clients we serve and their deliverables
• Learns the planning process and assists in planning multiple assignments
• Builds and strengthens co-worker and client relationships through effective communication and an understanding of relevant standards; advises on concerns and relevant industry pronouncements

Requirements

• Enrolled in a BA/BS in an Accounting/Finance or related program with an accredited university.
• Knowledge of basic accounting concepts.
• Strong technical, analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle pressure in a positive, professional manner.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, stand or sit for extended periods of time, as well as type/enter data at a keyboard regularly.
