Job Requirements

Essential Functions:

• Perform and complete detailed designs of civil/structural projects assigned utilizing CAD (3D CAD preferred).
• Perform precise field data collection of dimensions, reference points, and existing installations to ensure accuracy during fabrication and construction.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines to ensure continuity in deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations staff on design development and installation details.
• Have strong background in piping systems, drafting standards, and relevant codes.
• Preparation of detailed design drawings, in accordance with engineering design, required as project deliverables.
• Prepares and/or directs the preparation of final drawing plots and copies for transmittal relative to all project deliverables.
• Ensure all drawings are prepared using EMPCo standards for completeness, and overall quality, and follow document control procedures
• Assist with field monitoring and coordination of projects during construction.

Work Experience

Requirements:

• Successful completion of Design/Drafting curriculum from an accredited institution (Preferred).
• Preferred PE Certification of Texas State
• 5-10 years of design/drafting experience in the civil/structural discipline.
• Working experience with 3D CAD and Laser Scanning processing to create detailed C/S designs.
• Able to correlate survey data and spatial consistency and incorporate in design drawings.
• Field / Walk-down and data gathering/measurement experience.
• Possesses a basic understanding of EMPCo Drafting Standards and Specifications which apply to his/her for assigned project
• Aptitude for understanding technical & construction terminology
• Current TWIC Card needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, creative, organized, and solution advocate.
• Team Player and willing to assist with helping other staff.
• Attention to detail.
