Staff Pharmacist

Responsibilities

• Dispense medications accurately while adhering to all legal, safety, and regulatory standards, including HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and modify individualized treatment plans for diverse patient populations.
• Manage pharmacy inventory efficiently by monitoring stock levels, ordering medications, and ensuring proper storage and compounding of medications using aseptic technique when preparing IV infusions or compounded drugs.
• Utilize pharmacy software to document prescriptions, monitor drug interactions, and maintain accurate patient records.
• Assist pharmacy technicians with workflow coordination, ensuring efficient operations within the pharmacy setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prescription Review: Verify and interpret physician prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
• Medication Dispensing:  Prepare and dispense medications, ensuring correct dosages and labeling.
• Patient Counseling:  Provide information and advice to patients on medication use, potential side effects, and interactions.
• Inventory Management:  Maintain and manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and stocking medications.
• Compliance: Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with state and federal regulations.
• Collaboration:  Work with healthcare providers to manage patient medication therapy and improve health outcomes.
• Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of patient prescriptions, medication dispensing, and inventory.

Qualifications

• Education : Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
• Licensure : Valid TX state pharmacy license. Sterile Certification
• Experience : Previous experience in a compounding pharmacy setting preferred.
• Skills : Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in pharmacy software.
• Knowledge : In-depth understanding of compounding, non- sterile and sterile requirements, and team management
