We are seeking a Staff Accountant who will function as the company's Controller, overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, managing financial reporting, and ensuring the accuracy of our books. This is a first shift position working approximately 30 to 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Oversee cash flow management and prepare forecasts and budgets
Perform full-cycle accounting, including daily QuickBooks online data entry for invoices, expenses, credit card charges, and journal entries
Conduct monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Track and manage accounts payable and receivable
Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger and financial statements
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for ownership
Ensure timely vendor payments and coordinate with internal team on expense management
Act as the financial point of contact for external accountants, lenders, and vendors
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must have Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience); Experience in construction, retail or service-based industries is preferred
Must have a minimum of 3 years accounting experience; preferably in a small business environment
Experience working with multi-entity accounting, prepare year-end taxes, and working with CPA's
Must have strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting practices
Must be comfortable taking ownership of all financial operations with limited oversight
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and deadline-driven
