Team: sitting in DBA team for US tax apps support- small group that consists of 4 team members and a lead and sr. Manager and support any application that is running SQL

Looking for a highly experienced SQL DBA someone with 7 plys years on micorosoft sQL server and 5 years in SQL Azure.

SQL server on virtual machines will not work they need it Platform as a service for SQL and understand log analytics, azure insights and components that make up monitoring in azure

• Things like hands on experience with performance monitoring
• Extended events
• Querry optimization work that needs to take place so finding bottlenecks and raise issues that help optimize the querries and tune the SQL querries themselves
• Understanding how backups work and experience bringing that data back into the environment
• Do a lot of local azure restores
• Bring your own key is how we set up our encryption so they need to be familiar with that model and how that plugs into the SQL environment
• Using Intra for authentication and need understanding of how Microsoft uses that
• Scripting- Powershell, Toad and visual studio
• Minimum HS diploma,
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (preferred. ) will be a plus
• On call rotation- 8-5, Monday- Friday they will need to be available for

Job Description : Be responsible for the design and delivery of database technology to solve business needs.
Maintain effective internal control of the database involving implementation, tuning, throughput, optimization, security and integrity of the environment. Extensive knowledge and experience in development and/or application based troubleshooting in SQL server.
Demonstrated experience in application support with industry knowledge of ITIL service management principles.
Extensive technical understanding that spans multiple platforms and application level expertise of a portfolio of applications with broad knowledge of the business strategic priorities, in order to resolve complex problems.

Additional Info : "The SQL workload has transitioned to Azure PaaS so it is critical the resource has hands-on experience supporting DBs in Azure.
PostgreSQL experience a plus.

Additional Skills

-7+ years of experience in MS SQL Azure environments, including Azure SQL PaaS.
- Strong background in SQL development, including writing and troubleshooting stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, and constraints.
- Expertise in analyzing SQL execution plans to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Hands-on experience with Performance Monitor, Extended Events, and other monitoring/troubleshooting tools.
-Skilled in query optimization, blocking and deadlock resolution, and diagnosing performance issues in critical scenarios.
-Proficient in troubleshooting database integrity, replication, log shipping, connectivity, and security issues.
-Strong understanding of Azure backup and restore processes (local and remote Azure SQL servers).
-Familiarity with Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) in backup/restore operations and implementation.



Knowledge of:
- Entra ID authentication
- Azure SQL Server network security
- Azure networking principles


Expert-level experience in operational automation for database administration.
Required knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
Familiarity with third-party DBA tools such as Toad, pgAdmin, DBeaver, dbForge, and Visual Studio.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (preferred.
