Position: Shopify Developer and IT Generalist
Location: Jacksonville Beach, FL

SUMMARY

The Shopify Developer and IT Generalist will play a pivotal role in aligning technology resources with GORUCK’s business goals. This multifaceted role is primarily responsible for leading the implementation and daily support of our Shopify Plus eCommerce stores and will also address a range of IT needs. The successful candidate will bring 6+ years of experience in Shopify site development, complemented by a broad background in application development and general IT support. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded skill set with the ability to support and enhance our technology infrastructure beyond eCommerce.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Shopify Development:
  • Lead Development and Optimization: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of GORUCK’s eCommerce stores, including custom solutions and third-party API integrations.
  • Implement Best Practices: Communicate and enforce best practices for Shopify Plus development and maintenance.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain eCommerce strategic plans, evaluate new technologies, improve business processes, and deliver progress reports on operations/projects.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Resolve errors, ensure website performance, and provide ongoing support.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers to optimize our eCommerce platform.
  • Hands-On Problem-Solving: Demonstrate a proactive approach to coding and problem-solving, ensuring innovative and effective solutions.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with leadership to build project plans, establish timelines, allocate resources, identify solutions, and assess project risks.
  • Prioritization and Recommendations: Manage expectations, make trade-offs, offer recommendations, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• IT Generalist Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Manage and support IT various tools and infrastructure projects and vendor relationships as needed.
  • Assist with the setup, maintenance, and security of GORUCK’s tech platforms. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with Shopify Plus, including expertise in Shopify’s Liquid templating language, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery.
• Familiarity with the Shopify API
• Familiarity with SEO techniques
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable business solutions.
• Proven ability to align technology initiatives with business goals.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including partners, colleagues, and external vendors.
• Proficiency in evaluating and implementing emerging technologies and managing budgets and resources.
• Demonstrated capability to handle complex development questions and provide concise, actionable answers.
