Shipping & Receiving Lead

Job Description

Summary:

The Shipping & Receiving Lead is responsible for leading the department in ensuring that all shipments are properly received, and all documentation is verified.

What You Will Do:

Lead, motivate, and direct employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems.
Review shipment orders , stage, and assign tasks to appropriate personnel.
Work with supervisor to review the schedule to establish a plan for the evening shift.
Solve day-to-day problems regarding Shipping/Receiving services.
Greet and assist visitors/drivers in a timely and friendly manner.
Coordinate with warehouse and transportation to ensure timely and accurate preparation of shipping and receiving documents.
Receive, count, and log cash received by carriers if applicable.
Maintain WMS Scheduler , hard copy schedules, and updates visual aids for traffic flow.
Verify paperwork with and release drivers once paperwork is completed.
Complete receipts including pallets for loads.
Verify product and product count to ensure accuracy of data entered in computer.
Arrange outbound pick-up appointments for carriers and customer pickups.
Call carriers for late and/or no-show trucks and reschedule appointments as necessary.
Follow HACCP and SQF requirements for food quality and safety.
Other duties as assigned .

Qualifications & Skills:

At least 1 year Shipping & Receiving experience .
1 year managing others required.
Strong computer skills .
Basic math skills .
Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills .
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Great attention to detail .
Must be a team player .
Willing to work weekends, holidays, or different shifts when needed to ensure the business is operational 24/7.
