As an Information Technology Technician you will have the opportunity to:

  • With direction from the Service Desk supervisor, support leads and/or may receive general direction from the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the incumbent provides level one support and resolution for software, hardware, printers, phones, and other IT peripheral issues either through phone, in person, or using remote access technologies
  • Assist with A/V services, webinars and online meetings using standard software and hardware, answer customer questions regarding system procedures, system status, and downtime procedures, follow Service Desk standard operating procedure (SOP) guidelines, and provide level one technical and support training
  • Assist or work as part of the project team on priority projects, such as asset inventory project, telecoms project, hoteling project, HAM & SAM project, printer refresh project, and other related Service Desk projects
  • Ensure that computer and peripheral equipment are in working order and have all required software updates for hardware and software compliance to security standards
  • Assist with setting up, deploying desktop images, moving and/or replacement of IT equipment, either on scheduled time frames or as necessary
  • Perform end of life asset management; assists lead technical staff with ensuring that an adequate IT equipment is available to office staff, ensuring all equipment is in good operating condition
