Job Description

The SEO Specialist works with a small elite team of dynamic, creative professionals to brainstorm, plan, and build high-value backlinks and content for our website in original, clever, and inventive ways. This role is perfect for someone who’s a great networker, has a keen eye for detail, and has their finger on the pulse of SEO best practices. Must have experience with digital PR and backlinking, a passion for establishing strong relationships with web-property owners/managers, a natural curiosity for website optimization, the ability to partner with content marketing to drive content growth, and a knack for being proactive in pursuing growth opportunities.

Responsibilites:

• Backlink Strategy & Execution:
• Develop effective backlink acquisition strategies to improve domain authority/organic rankings.
• Execute link prospecting to secure high-quality, relevant backlinks from authoritative websites.
• Monitor existing backlinks to ensure quality and relevance over time.
• Analyze competitors' backlink profiles to identify opportunities for link-building campaigns.
• Digital PR Campaigns:
• Craft compelling Digital PR campaigns that align with the brand and resonate with our audience.
• Maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers to earn editorial placements.
• Pitch creative/newsworthy content ideas to media outlets to generate earned media coverage.
• Collaborate with the team to develop link-worthy assets (i.e. reports, infographics, etc.).
• Content Creation:
• Optimize existing content to improve our content’s ranking in search engines
• Build new, keyword-targeted copy content, as needed in WordPress
• Use SEO tools to identify search trends and key phrases
• Create custom graphics and enhance images for landing pages and blog posts
• Utilize On-page/technical SEO to maximize our copy’s reach (i.e. internal linking, metadata, etc.)
• Maintain editorial calendars to keep the team on track
• Performance Analysis & Reporting:
• Report on the success of backlink and Digital PR campaigns, using tools like Ahrefs and SEMrush
• Provide insights/recommendations based on campaign performance to improve results

Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices

Requirements

• 1-2+ years experience doing SEO work for in-house or an agency
• 2+ years of experience in linkbuilding and digital PR
• Expert knowledge in linkbuilding CRMs like Buzzstream or Pitchbox
• Expert knowledge of SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMRush, and Google Search Console
• Expert knowledge of WordPress
• Desire to lead the linkbuilding strategy
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Knowledge of building link-worthy content
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS
• Experience in the legal vertical
• SEO Certifications (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Analytics, Gotch Academy)
• Advanced technical SEO experience is a plus
