About the Role:
As a Senior Tax Accountant, you'll bring your expertise in tax preparation, review, and planning to the forefront. This role involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including advanced client work across accounting, tax, advisory, and consulting areas. You'll use your professional judgment and critical thinking to identify opportunities and handle complex tasks. You'll also review work completed by junior staff and take on client management responsibilities. We're looking for someone with a passion for working with business clients and a collaborative approach.
What We're Looking For:
- Education & Experience:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting or a similar field
- Proficiency with tax preparation software (CCH Axcess Tax preferred)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Familiarity with QuickBooks (both online & desktop)
- Experience with digital workpapers in a paperless environment
- Certifications (Preferred):
- CPA or EA certification, or plans to pursue certification
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review income tax returns (1120S, 1065, 1120, 1040)
- Oversee and review work completed by staff accountants
- Plan and execute tax strategies for businesses and shareholders, including complex and multi-year scenarios
- Conduct advanced financial analysis, including cash flow and forecasts
- Analyze client data to uncover opportunities and propose solutions
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and manage their engagements
- Handle client communications, billing, and workload planning
- Organize and lead staff training initiatives
- Support various services including assurance, advisory, consulting, and accounting as needed
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and manage internal workload

Schedule & Location:
- Full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week
- Flexible remote or hybrid work options
- Increased hours during busy season (mid-January - mid-April) averaging 50 hours per week
- Reduced summer hours (Memorial Day to Labor Day) averaging 36 hours per week
- Office closed on Fridays (April 15 - Labor Day) and includes 9 paid holidays
