SUMMARY
The Sr. Robotics Engineer designs, develops, and implements robotic control systems for medical applications in a C++, Windows, Python environment. Analyzes user requirements to create and improve the efficacy, efficiency, and reliability through software applications. Identifies and leverages technologies to align with business needs and increase team productivity. Acts as a lead and mentor to software and/or robotic team members during product development.

SALARY AND PAY TRANSPARENCY
Salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $170,000.  Base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and all applicable company benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
  • Write well-designed and testable code
  • Lead and conduct efficient and expedient research and development towards new or improving existing robotic arm subsystems to achieve business needs
  • Lead and conduct efficient and expedient research and development towards new or improving existing control system algorithms to improve performance and safety
  • Execute the full application development life-cycle
  • Lead product planning by determining feasibility, requirements, and by proposing solutions
  • Create and maintain software documentation including descriptions, flowcharts, architectural diagrams, and source code comments
  • Assist with developing software validation and quality assurance procedures
  • Continue professional development by keeping up with current development tools, programming techniques, and programming methodologies
  • Continue professional development by keeping up with current robotic technologies
  • Design, develop and modify software systems, using simulation techniques, scientific analysis, and/or mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
  • Improves operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
  • Participate in robotic related patent research and applications
  • Work closely with the AI/ML and/or computer vision development teams

Education/Experience
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Control Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering from four-year college or university; may have M.S., or Ph.D. in related field. Must have eight to twelve years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
