Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Associate Vice Provost and Dean for the
College of Extended and Global Education (CEGE), the incumbent will strategically plan, develop, execute and lead the marketing presence for
the College of Extended and Global Education programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, contributing to long-term
programmatic and departmental objectives; initiating marketing and promotional projects; responding in a timely manner to requests or
inquiries; reviewing all work products for accuracy prior to completion; serving as the primary contact for the department/program; and
being responsible for the day-to-day operations within the unit, including providing lead work direction to staff and student
assistants.
Duties and responsibilities Traditional Marketing and Promotion:
- Utilize considerable
judgment and discretion when constructing comprehensive marketing plans, designing and executing final production, and analyzing return on
investment (ROI) for individual programs to reach enrollment target goals.
- Consult and advise programs to produce an extensive
recruitment plan to generate valuable leads and completed applications.
- Under the general direction, strategically plans,
implements, and maintains the daily and on-going marketing for the College of Extended and Global Education (CEGE) to meet university long-
term objectives.
- Designs, writes, edits, proofreads, produces, and distributes a variety of print and electronic marketing
collateral including, but not limited to, brochures; catalogs; posters; e-newsletters; print, digital, and Out-Of-Home (OOH) advertising,
etc.
- Conducts and evaluates marketing research and apply comprehensive knowledge of appropriate statistical research techniques and
methods to analyze related data on the marketing of current programs.
- Assists the CEGE program areas in developing and coordinating
marketing strategies.
- Maintains a working knowledge of protocols and institutional etiquette related to all programs administered
on behalf of university partners.
- Under general supervision, maintains approved marketing budgets.
- Tracks and reports on
effectiveness of marketing efforts.
Digital Marketing and Promotion
- Assessing, developing, and aligning digital presence
and marketing materials with Strategic Communications standards.
- Maintains web presence for all CEGE programs.
- In
collaboration with relevant staff, actively maintains all CEGE websites with accurate information.
- Recommends and implements
streamlined information pathways and creates new websites by using existing content management systems.
- Monitors and reports on web
& social analytics.
- Plans, implements, and maintains the daily and on-going online advertising/public relations (PR), Search Engine
Optimization (SEO), social media, and external web presence for CEGE.
- Create and implement a strategy for online advertising using
paid search and targeted industry websites.
- Maintain CEGE presence on external websites by regularly searching, cataloging,
maintaining, and promoting paid and unpaid CEGE content on relevant industry websites.
- Utilize expert writing and editorial skills
to compose, design, and submit advertisements and editorial content.
Graphic Design:
- Contribute to overall artistic
direction, strategically integrating the college's graphic communication efforts.
- In collaboration with designers, photographers,
faculty and other on the theme, plan, create, and provide digital graphic designs and prints.
- Creatively design and create layout
for social media, email, web, brochures, posters, flyers, banners, print, and other forms of advertising as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: - Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a
related field
- Four years of related professional or technical experience required
Required
Qualifications: - Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of communication, public affairs, media and/or marketing theories and
concepts in order to develop and execute communication strategies and plans to promote and position the university.
- Expert
knowledge of university communication objectives and ability to translate them into effective communication and media campaigns.
- Ability to understand issues from a broad, strategic perspective.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable copyright and other laws
pertaining to publications and the news media.
- Ability to effectively manage media relations and apply effective media strategies
and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to market story concepts to university officials and media outlets.
- Comprehensive
knowledge of marketing and research techniques and methods. Ability to use market research to enhance the impact of communication strategies
and campaigns.
- Working knowledge of appropriate use of statistical techniques.
- Expert networking and interpersonal skills
including strong consultative and persuasive skills to work with internal and external constituents and the media.
- Expert writing
and editorial skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years
marketing experience with emphasis on research, marketing plans, and digital communication.
- Thorough knowledge of web communication
techniques, vehicles and formats.
- Strong story development and journalistic writing skills, as well as advanced editorial
skills.
Compensation and Benefits: Anticipated Hiring Range: $5,000 - $7,500 per
month
Classification Salary Range: $4,842 - $8,759 per month
The salary offered will take into account internal equity and
experience among other factors.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision
plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year.

Position Information: Full-time Exempt Probationary
Academic year
schedule: Monday through Friday (8:00 am - 5:00 pm), some evenings/weekends. Summer schedule: Monday through
Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm), some evenings/weekends. The application deadline is: September 27, 2024
