Job Description The individual in this role will plan, direct, and coordinate the work of survey staff involved in surveying the earth's surface and preparing reports and legal descriptions of land. This will be done either personally or through subordinate supervisors. A supervisory classification is appropriate for staff with the experience and capability to oversee both office and field operations, ensuring the production of survey deliverables such as mapping, field observations, and coordination with other surveyors. Responsibilities include acting as the City Surveyor for cities in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura Counties. Specific tasks involve: Checking subdivision maps Handling lot line adjustments and mergers Reviewing easements and preparing legal descriptions and plats Responding to inquiries and advising on the Surveyors Map Act Coordinating sub-contracted field crews Collaborating with engineers and architects within Willdan to provide services like boundary and topographic surveys, aerial photogrammetry, and preparation of legal descriptions and plat maps Providing technical expertise to law firms, title companies, and cities, including reviewing defective titles, reforming deeds, and serving as an expert witness Offering technical guidance and support to surveying staff Monitoring project budgets and timelines to ensure efficiency and profitability Ensuring the quality and accuracy of survey data and deliverables Overseeing office survey staff and monitoring their development We are a company committed to creating inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience. Registration as a Licensed Land Surveyor in California. 10 years of experience encompassing all aspects of land surveying (field, office, management).
