We are recruiting for a leading controls company specializing in the design and production of generator enclosures for mission-critical applications, including data centers and industrial facilities. With a focus on innovation, precision, and reliability, our solutions support high-demand environments where performance and uptime are essential. This company is seeking an experienced Generator Technician to join their production team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the assembly, installation, and testing of generator enclosures. This individual must have hands-on experience with high-horsepower generators, control systems, and a background in data centers or similar high-demand environments.
Position Offers:
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the production, assembly, and installation of generator enclosures and associated components.
Troubleshoot and test high-horsepower generators, ensuring systems meet performance specifications and quality standards.
Integrate and test control systems within generator enclosures, including PLCs, switchgear, and monitoring equipment.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
Perform pre-delivery inspections and functional testing to ensure systems are ready for deployment.
Support field installation and commissioning when required, particularly at customer sites such as data centers.
Provide input on production improvements, system layouts, and best practices for high-horsepower generator integration.
Maintain accurate records of tests, inspections, and production-related tasks.
Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-5 years of experience working with high-horsepower generators (500 kW+), diesel or natural gas.
Experience with generator controls, including PLCs, switchgear, and automated systems.
Previous experience supporting data center infrastructure or similar mission-critical environments is highly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in production or field environments as required.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices for generator systems.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
