Job Description

Position Summary: Under the direction of the VP of Operations & Strategic Growth in collaboration with the Director of Business, the Senior Development Associate, will play a crucial role in driving the financial success of LTYC through strategic development initiatives. You will be responsible for cultivating corporate giving, and philanthropic donations, and securing corporate sponsorships. The role also involves coordinating pre-approved field meetings, identifying fundraising opportunities, and contributing to the overall fundraising strategy. This is a contractual position with an expected commitment of 10-15 hours per week.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Giving and Corporate Giving and Philanthropic Donations::
    • Research and identify potential philanthropic donors.
    • Cultivate relationships with corporate entities and individuals to secure philanthropic contributions.
    • Collaborate with the development team to steward existing donors and enhance donor engagement.

Corporate Sponsorship:

  • Identify and pursue corporate sponsorship opportunities aligned with LTYC's mission and values.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful execution of sponsorship agreements.
  • Pre-Approved Field Meetings:
    • Organize, coordinate, and attend pre-approved field meetings with potential donors and partners.
    • Represent LTYC professionally and effectively communicate its mission and impact.
  • Fundraising Opportunities:
    • Proactively seek out and assess new fundraising opportunities.
    • Collaborate with the development team to create and execute effective fundraising campaigns.
  • Relationship Management:
    • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including donors, sponsors, board members, and community leaders.
    • Provide excellent stewardship to ensure ongoing support and engagement.



Requirements

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Experience in fundraising, corporate giving, or related fields preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors and corporate partners.

  • Proactive and able to work independently to achieve strategic goals.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to form trust-based relationships with learned and other stakeholders.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Impeccable strategic, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and abilities. Attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines and streamline processes; while taking responsibility for process for improvement and accountability.
  • Operational Excellence: Excellent computer skills, the ability to operate computers and possess basic knowledge of Google Suite, Quickbooks, MS Windows, Microsoft Word, and other software. Organizational skills with a high level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and customer service.
  • Entrepreneurial Drive: Regular and consistent attendance, must perform duties with moderate direction given, operating from established directions and instructions. Able to self-motivate, self-regulate and make autonomous decisions. Able to comprehend purpose and drive to carry out directives independently and with a team.

Availability: Must be available for occasional evening or weekend events.

Additional Requirements: 

  • Independent Contractor Agreement: Must be signed upon acceptance.
  • References: Three professional references required, including at least one from a previous position working with children.
  • Background Check:

Must provide a current background check from CJIS (including state, federal, and childcare clearance).
