Our client, an AI-driven company, are hiring a Senior AI Engineer to join the team in California. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating, training and deploying advanced AI models on a web-based application, while designing scalable data ingestion models and modernizing data pipelines.
Responsibilities
As the Senior AI Engineer, you will be responsible to lead and provide strategic direction to the backend engineering team.
You will design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems that align with organizational goals.
Define and uphold best practices, coding standards and architectural guidelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, efficient and maintainable solutions.
Perform code reviews to maintain high-quality and easily maintainable code.
Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Enhance backend systems for improved performance, scalability and efficiency.
Implement industry best practices for scaling backend infrastructure.
Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver optimal solutions.
Clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Skillset
Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar.
Minimum of ten years of experience in backend engineering with a strong track record in designing and implementing complex systems.
Proficiency in backend technologies such as Python, Java, and hands-on experience with AWS services.
Experience with Databricks and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
Extensive experience in building data lakes and data warehouses.
Familiarity with business operational and financial tools.
Proven leadership in mentoring and coaching engineering teams.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Previous experience working in a startup is a bonus.
