SAP Basis Systems Engineer Description

We are looking for a SAP Basis Systems Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize SAP system landscapes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for system administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ensuring the stability of SAP environments. Additionally, the role includes ensuring knowledge transfer from the client team and building and maintaining a knowledge database for the new team.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain SAP system landscapes, including S/4HANA, BW, and other SAP solutions
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and patches and upgrades
• Manage SAP transport management, database administration, and system tuning
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies for SAP systems
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to support business processes
• Ensure smooth knowledge transfer from the client team, documenting system configurations and best practices
• Build and maintain a knowledge database, ensuring documentation is up to date and accessible
• Support cloud and on-premise SAP deployments, ensuring secure and efficient system operations
• Implement security best practices and compliance measures for SAP landscapes
• Provide technical support and guidance to development and infrastructure teams

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration
• Strong knowledge of SAP system architecture, performance tuning, and database management
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, and cloud-based SAP solutions
• Understanding of SAP security, authorization management, and compliance requirements
• Ability to document and transfer knowledge effectively to ensure a smooth team transition
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Nice to have

• SAP Basis or HANA certification
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP for SAP workloads
• Exposure to SAP Solution Manager and monitoring tools
