Wholesale Restaurant & Trade Sales Representative 

Thatcher’s Imports New York Metro Area 

Full Time - Base Salary plus commission

This is a Sales position with a minimum of 5 years Fine European Wine experience

Thatcher’s Wine is driven by the excitement and passion of our skilled sommelier team. Our training is rooted in Michelin-starred restaurants and the traditions of old world wineries, paired with a curiosity for discovering the emerging regions and young winemakers who are actively moving the industry forward. From sought-after classics to small productions, we personally select each bottle featured on our site and in our shop. Founded in 2018, originally focused on Cellar Consulting, Thatcher’s Wine expanded with an e-commerce wine shop, followed by Thatcher’s Imports in 2020. 

Thatcher’s Imports’ was born out of passion. We spent time in Europe during the pandemic, quickly realizing an emergence of young talent in the wine world, coupled alongside a need for a change and shift in the way wine is imported. 

The producers of Thatcher’s Imports share the ethos of contributing to the future of great wine. Through innovation and winemaking ideals, healthy farming practices, adapting to environment and economical changes and being a part of the wine world as a whole. These producers have worked for some of the world's most recognized wineries such as Jacques Selosse, Coche-Dury, Jean Yves Bizot and more. Alongside the young generation we work with a few producers that have for years, helped define what great wine is, such as Domaine Fourrier, a globally recognized and respected top domaine of Burgundy. 

We are hiring a New York Sales position to work directly with the California Import and Sales team to represent Thatcher’s Imports, Thatcher’s Wine and our producers in New York, which is launching this year. The person will be responsible for assisting in day to day operations, order creation, assisting in promoting the brand's identity, wholesale account development and sales. 

This is a position with flexibility in developing the position outside of just establishing and excelling with wholesale and restaurant account development. With the multifaceted nature of Thatcher’s Wine there is a lot of room for a diverse sales strategy within the wholesale and private client sectors both with the Import portfolio and the full wine cellar. 

Experience Required

5+ years experience working with European wine

Experience working with fine wine

POS & computer capabilities and proficiency

Flexibility & Weekends

Hospitality Skills

Ability to create and build relationships

Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Additional Experience not required but preferred

Michelin Restaurant experience

Private Client and Client development

Wholesale sales experience 

Wine retail or restaurant experience

Experience with private client sales
