Researcher will lead a state-funded project using lichens as low cost monitors of air quality in urban areas across Minnesota. Responsibilities include fieldwork, labwork, specimen identification and curation, data analysis, citizen-science activities and preparation of grant reports and manuscripts for publication. Researcher will lead field expeditions in MN to document and sample lichen communities in urban areas and perform and monitor lichen transplants in these sites. Researcher will also lead the measurement of hard and soft traits in specimens collected, prepare samples for elemental analyses, and participate in citizen-science activities aiming to develop and apply an index of air pollution monitoring with lichens. Researcher will supervise and assist students and other workers in field and laboratory measurements and participate in scientific conferences.

-Advanced degree with one or more years of research training. Preferred Qualifications -Multiple years of experience interfacing with citizen scientists and similar groups
