Basic Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in computational condensed matter physics, materials science, or a related field

  • Expertise in data science and machine learning

  • 2+ years of relevant research experience beyond the Ph.D.

  • Knowledge of quantum materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in developing AI/ML-based workflows for automatized materials prediction, synthesis and characterization

  • Independent research competence as proven by a significant number of national and/or international peer-reviewed publications and a sustained publication record.

  • Proven ability to secure research funding from sponsors (federal or within the private sector)

  • Proven ability to lead research teams/efforts.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory.

  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
