Join a pioneering team at the forefront of reproductive biology and aging research! The Buck Institute seeks a
Research Associate I (RAI) for a joint position between the Reproductive Biology Hub and the Duncan Lab. Our research aims to uncover the mechanisms behind female reproductive aging, ultimately improving fertility and health spans across generations.

- Salary: $50,000 – $67,000 (commensurate with experience)

Role Overview: The RAI will learn and perform reproductive techniques with mammalian models under the direct supervision of Dr. Bikem Soygur Kaya and remote mentorship from Dr. Francesca Duncan. You'll work hands-on at the bench and intellectually contribute to impactful discoveries.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform and optimize experiments in cellular, molecular biology, and biochemistry
- Maintain and manage a mouse breeding colony (including occasional weekend/holiday work)
- Analyze experimental data and maintain a detailed digital lab notebook
- Assist with lab management, supply ordering, and safety compliance
- Support researchers using the Reproductive Biology Hub
- Mentor students and teach lab techniques to collaborators
Ideal Candidate: - Bachelor’s or Master’s in Biomedical Sciences or related field
- 1+ year lab experience; strong preference for background in reproductive biology or mouse genetics
- Proficiency in techniques such as PCR, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and animal handling
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
