Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned newsroom leader with an established contacts book in the emerging cryptocurrency space and its place in the dynamic world of finance. Reporting to the Head of Content, you will be curious, motivated, organized, and nimble, bringing a wide-ranging skillset and broad experience to a fast-paced but also rewarding role. You will be part of a growing team focused on growing the CCN audience and reputation with insightful journalism.

Responsibilities

• Playing a key role in the development of and day-to-day running of the CCN editorial operation
• Shaping a daily news agenda, including the crafting of impact headlines and unique story angles
• Assisting in the development of a content strategy that successfully grows the CCN audience
• Leading and mentoring a team of editors, reporters, and analysts
• Ensuring published content adheres to accuracy, style, SEO, and tone guidelines
• Contributing to the development of a content calendar and setting of a publication schedule to create an engaging mix of news and analysis
• Identifying and recruiting for roles that will contribute to growing CCN’s reach and reputation
• Effectively liaise with other departments — including engineering, marketing, and SEO — to ensure smooth running of the team

Requirements

• At least 10 years of editorial leadership experience with an understanding and, more importantly, interest in cryptocurrencies, Web3, and business
• Ability to motivate and inspire junior and senior staff
• Experience in running significant editorial operations
• Ability to identify emerging trends, an eye for a story, and the ability to find interesting angles
• Talent for networking and building contacts with key industry figures through attendance of events and various conferences;
• Ability to edit copy quickly and concisely.
