ChristianaCare is currently seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to provide telephonic clinical assessment, triage, and cardiac health education services for a variety of patients. You will be part of a team of 4 RNs to support 50 providers.
** This position is 100% remote work.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8:30AM-4:30PM, with late day rotation
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Assesses callers needs and assists them with issues related to patient care utilizing the nursing process
Adapts communication style to persons representing diverse personal, professional, cultural, and socio- economic backgrounds.
Ability to multi-task, with adequate typing skills
Coordinates and interoperates tests and lab results per physician approved protocol, and advises patients per physician instructions
Demonstrates sound judgement with critical thinking skill experience, to manage urgent calls
Uses excellent hearing and listening skills to receive detailed information
Utilizes the computer database to assess, educate, and document all information in an accurate manner
Refers calls requiring a provider's response and triages priority as medically necessary.
Screens and responds to patient phone calls, directing to Clinicians as needed.
Facilitates urgent visits as appropriate.
Maintains confidentiality of all patient information.
Adheres to policies/safety practices established by CCHS
Meets minimum established quality and productivity standards
Placing orders per physician as needed
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Performs other related duties as required.
Refill Rxs as necessary and appropriate updating of medication list.
Will provide PTO coverage for Clinical Coordinator of Cardiac Procedures.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum of an associate degree from an accredited two year college. BSN preferred.
If Associate degree RN will need to obtain BSN within 3 years per Christiana Care policy.
A graduate of a state approved or National League of Nursing accredited training program required
At least 2 years of nursing triage experience in cardiology preferred
Critical care or Emergency room experience preferred
Cardiology Nursing Triage experience preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Special Requirements:
Current unrestricted Delaware RN License.
