We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Level II Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) for a 13-week travel contract. This role provides critical care to unstable newborns (32 weeks and greater), supporting high-risk deliveries and neonatal stabilization. Candidates must be skilled in neonatal respiratory management, IV therapy, central lines, feeding techniques, and specialized NICU procedures.
Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive care to neonates (29 34 weeks gestation and greater) in a Level II NICU.
Attend all deliveries, including high-risk deliveries.
Administer and monitor respiratory support (CPAP, BiPAP, bubble CPAP, oxygen delivery systems).
Manage IV therapies including vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids.
Care for central lines, UACs, UVCs, and PICC lines.
Support neonates with feeding: breastfeeding, bottle, gavage, and breast milk handling.
Monitor and treat neonates with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome.
Perform and support procedures including chest tube care, cooling/warming blanket use, RSI (rapid sequence intubation drugs), and sedation support.
Follow strict infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions.
Float as needed to Postpartum and Labor & Delivery units.
Must not be a first-time traveler (previous travel assignment required).
Staffing ratio: 1:3.
Strong experience in neonatal care, respiratory therapy, IV therapy, and emergency interventions.
Ability to work in a teaching and community hospital environment.
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (BSN preferred).
Minimum: 1 year of NICU experience.
Candidates with fewer than 2 years will require additional screening.
Must have recent Level II NICU experience caring for unstable newborns.
Active RN license (Compact licenses honored at all Swedish facilities).
Perm staff from other Providence facilities (excluding Swedish) may apply if separated for at least 3 months.

NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program
Central/implanted line care (UAC, UVC, PICC).
IV vasopressors, surfactants, and neonatal medications.
Bubble CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen therapy.
Feeding support (breast/gavage/bottle).
Neonatal abstinence syndrome management.
Chest tube set-up and care.
Drains, feeding tubes, syringe pumps.
Transition nursery and couplet care.
GYN surgeries support.
