Overview

The Recruiting Specialist is responsible for the talent acquisition and onboarding functions, playing a crucial role in recruiting staff and enhancing the employee experience. This position requires a background in strategic recruiting, and talent mapping, as well as expertise in analysis and reporting, effective use of technology, and enhancing candidate experience. The Recruiting Specialist works alongside the Human Resources Department and reports to the Director of Human Resources. 

 

Essential Functions

Recruiting and Talent Management:

  • Mentor hiring managers, providing guidance on interview questions and identifying both required expertise and soft skills.
  • Build successful, balanced teams and monitor their progress.
  • Manage internal referrals.
  • Stay up to date on compensation trends.
  • Contribute to strong pipeline generation and make informed candidate recommendations.
  • Full-cycle recruiting

 Job Post Activities:

  • Analyze and identify new sources for job postings.
  • Manage and monitor diversity boards and other job board relationships.
  •  Manage billing associated with job boards.
  • Organize and participate in career fairs.

Analysis and Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on the success of job posts.
  • Ensure all recruitment practices comply with current employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all candidate interactions and recruitment activities

Technology Management:

  • Oversee the effective use of technology, including websites, ATS, and AI tools for job descriptions and sourcing.
  • Stay updated on recruiting trends and best practices.

Candidate Experience:

  • Build and manage candidate relationships, considering candidates for multiple roles when applicable.
  • Ensure a consistent and timely hiring process with two-way communication from candidates to recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Stay informed about laws and industry standards related to recruiting, sourcing, and talent acquisition.
  • Coordinate exit interviews with employees and work with the HR Department to identify areas of improvement and recommend changes. 

Onboarding:

  • Facilitate onboarding processes and procedures to streamline new hire integration.
  • Coordinate with managers to schedule and conduct new employee orientations.
  • Conduct onboarding sessions to familiarize new hires with company policies, procedures, culture, and benefit enrollment. 
  • Provide job description and 30/60/90-day plan for new hires, as provided by managers.
  • For drivers, conduct necessarily pre and post-employment requirements.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for new employees during the onboarding process, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure a smooth transition for new hires into their respective roles, including monitoring and tracking managers new hire orientation and 30/60/90-day plan for new hires.
  • Update organizational chart as necessary
  • Utilize systems to track and monitor onboarding progress and compliance.
  • Provide ongoing support to new employees to facilitate their acclimation to the organization.

Training:

  • Collaborate closely with the HR Department to align training initiatives with organizational goals and strategies as it relates to new hires.
  • Participate in the development of new training programs by providing insights into employee needs and feedback from previous training sessions.
