The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Genitourinary cancers, particularly in brachytherapy, rectal spacer procedures and/or SBRT. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Board Certified for the American Board of Radiology preferred; or Board Eligible.
Teaching responsibilities may include the teaching, training, and mentoring of radiation oncology residents, medical physics residents, medical physics graduate students, visiting physics residents or trainees from other institutions or other countries, etc. Other informal and formal teachings include but are not limited to participating in resident didactic series, both as a lecturer and as an in-person discussant.
Clinical responsibilities may include treatment on the genitourinary disease site, the evaluation and management of patients diagnosed with GU cancer, and the delivery of radiation therapy-related care.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include Leading and/or participating in GU-related clinical trials; publish in well-known scientific journals, preferably as a first or last author.
Penn Radiation Oncology is dedicated to a three-part mission of excellence in patient care, basic and translational research, and the education of residents and medical students. Penn Medicine delivers a broad range of radiation therapy services to its patients, including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy, proton therapy, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS/SBRT using Gamma Knife /Cyberknife/Varian Linac). Patients have access to proton therapy at the Roberts Proton Therapy Center, housing the largest proton therapy facility in the USA, comprising four gantry treatment rooms and one fixed beam room.
