Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Coordinator to join our team in Monterey, California. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Global Sourcing team by managing vendor relationships, maintaining documentation, and ensuring cost-effective sourcing. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in purchasing, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: - Coordinate with vendors to obtain quotes, product specifications, and compliance documentation for both domestic and international suppliers. - Maintain and organize sourcing records, including final quotes, product specifications, and documentation required for handoffs to other teams. - Generate and manage reports using Excel, and assist in preparing presentations and documents in Word and PowerPoint. - Track product status through the sourcing process, ensuring purchase orders are accurate and vendor information is up-to-date. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, to finalize product samples and maintain an organized archive. - Manage stock samples by requesting, labeling, and routing them to relevant departments such as Product Development and Merchandising. - Oversee shipping logistics, including preparing outbound shipments, generating shipping labels, and keeping detailed expense records. - Attend team meetings and contribute to product presentations as needed. - Provide general administrative support and assist with various sourcing projects as they arise. - Handle light physical tasks, such as organizing product displays or samples, when required. Requirements - At least 5 years of experience in sourcing, purchasing, or a related role. - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - Familiarity with ERP systems, such as IBM AS/400 or Great Plains, is a plus. - Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. - Strong communication skills, including experience using tools like Outlook, Teams, and Zoom. - Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. - Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in managing documentation and tracking. - Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
