Public/Project Finance Associate Denver (2 - 5 Years)

Practice Area: Public Finance / Project Finance

Level: Associate (Lateral)

Location: Denver, CO

Compensation: $205,000 - $245,000 base salary (DOE)

About the Client

A national Am Lawlevel firm with a major U.S. footprint is seeking an Associate with 2 - 5 years of experience in public finance, project finance, or related finance transactions . The team handles complex financings for both public- and private-sector projects, including renewable energy, housing, healthcare, water/sewer systems, education facilities, and broader infrastructure development. This role offers early responsibility, direct client interaction, and an environment that values collaboration and business development involvement.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support a high-volume practice focused on public finance and project finance transactions .

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various financing documents.

  • Interface with borrowers/developers, investment banks, lenders, issuers, and investors.

  • Assist in closings and manage deal execution workflows.

  • Engage with clients and internal teams regularly to coordinate project milestones.

  • Participate in business development opportunities, including industry events and conferences.

Experience Requirements

  • 2 - 5 years in public finance, project finance, tax equity , or other complex finance transactional work.

  • Experience closing transactions is highly preferred and a strong differentiator.

  • Familiarity with public finance documentation or tax equity structures is advantageous.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational capability, and drafting skills.

  • Active bar license in the jurisdiction (Colorado) or eligibility to waive in.
