Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the direct supervision and evaluation of all mental health staff.

• Implements and enforces all policies and procedures pertaining to the facility’s mental health services.

• Meets regularly with the facility’s Health Services Administrator to communicate information regarding mental health services.

• Coordinates mental health care with the medical department.

• Administratively oversees the referral process for psychopharmacological interventions .

• Oversees transfers of inmates to higher levels of mental health care when necessary.

• Attends all clinical and administrative meetings as scheduled by the Health Services Administraton.

• Provides direct mental health services as needed.

• Oversees mental health discharge planning for inmates to be released into the community.

• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a degree in Psychology (Ph.D./Psy.D) from an accredited graduate program in Psychology. 
• Must be licensed as a Psychologist by the state in which he/she will provide services.
