Job Description
Associate will be tasked with providing support to senior management in sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities in the enterprise software sector. Candidate will have an understanding of finance and accounting as well as exhibit the ability to communicate and build relationships.
Responsibilities
• Perform initial review of business opportunities and discuss relevant factors with the firm’s senior managers
• Provide analytical support on capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other financial advisory projects
• Interact with corporate clients, private equity firms, venture capital firms and senior bankers
• Contribute to and lead elements of thematic, proactive calling efforts to identify investment opportunities in this sourcing-heavy environment
• Assist senior management in drafting initial investment committee reports
• Assist in the preparation of company valuations and financial models
• Create and maintain industry-specific business development presentations
• Conduct industry and company-specific research
Qualifications
The candidate should possess the following qualifications:
• 2-4 years of relevant work experience
• Bachelor’s degree with a concentration of accounting/finance. MBA or CPA preferred, but not necessary
• Experience working at an investment bank, financial advisory firm, private equity or venture capital firm preferred
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Analytical and computer skills, with an ability to problem solve
• Initiative, integrity, and creativity with an intense focus on detail and a commitment to excellence
• Keen interest in the technology sector
