Job Description

Neurona Therapeutics is a clinical stage biotechnology company based in South San Francisco, CA developing cell-based therapies for neurological disease. We have an opening for a Preclinical Research Associate who will contribute to ongoing programs and build new animal models to study modulation of neural circuits and support translational development of cellular therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities

• Process tissue samples for histological analysis, including microtome and cryostat sectioning, staining, immunohistochemistry, imaging and quantitative analysis
• Conduct rodent studies, including handling, dosing, surgical procedures, and tissue collection
• Monitor, observe, and score behavioral assays
• Follow experimental protocols with precision and maintain detailed, accurate laboratory records
• Analyze data and clearly communicate experimental results
• Independently execute experiments while also contributing to collaborative research activities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in biology, neuroscience, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Hands-on laboratory experience that includes histological methods and working with animals, with supporting references
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to contribute to a team
• Clear, effective written and verbal communication
• High energy, focus, and commitment to drug discovery and development
