LOD Staffing has openings for Plumber (Commercial)

Location: San Antonio TX

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, Some weekends, Must be flexible with hours
Rate of Pay: $30 $45/hr Depending on Experience

The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in commercial and industrial settings. This position requires technical expertise, adherence to plumbing codes, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer service.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain water supply lines, drainage systems, gas lines, and related fixtures and appliances.
• Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, and plumbing codes to complete jobs accurately.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, low water pressure, and faulty equipment.
• Assemble, cut, thread, solder, weld, or bend pipes using proper tools and techniques.
• Test plumbing systems for leaks, pressure, and proper operation; make adjustments and repairs as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal plumbing codes and safety regulations.
• Inspect, install, and maintain water heaters, pumps, backflow preventers, and other plumbing-related equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on jobs.
• Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and team members to provide excellent service.
• Respond to plumbing emergencies, including after-hours service calls when required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including vehicles, tools, and job sites.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Must have plumber tools.
• Valid Journeyman Plumber license or certification as required by state/local jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 5 years of plumbing experience at the apprentice/journeyman level.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, tools, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, pipe cutters, threading machines, and other plumbing equipment.
• Must have own vehicle to travel between job sites and main office.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Working Environment:

• Work performed indoors and outdoors in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions, confined spaces, heights, and potentially hazardous materials.
• May be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or be on-call for emergency service.
• Work involves frequent travel between job sites.
• Must wear appropriate PPE at all times.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to handle tools, materials, and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adequate vision, hearing, and hand-eye coordination for precision work.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, attics, crawl spaces, and on ladders or scaffolding.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex plumbing issues under pressure.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple assignments.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, read technical manuals, and comply with codes/regulations.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers, coworkers, and contractors in a professional manner.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
