Position Summary

Work as a piping/plumbing layout Designer, you will support design development of facility layouts, piping, & equipment 3D models for various projects as part of the NS&E execution center team. The projects that will be assigned involve government work throughout various sectors including DOE and DOD, as well as commercial nuclear projects and business development projects. 

Responsibilities

• 3D modeling of piping and equipment in a Revit MEP 3D model environment.
• 3D modeling of piping and equipment in a SmartPlant 3D model environment.
• Preparation of drawings/documents for General Arrangements and riser diagrams, etc. from Revit MEP.
• Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e., input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical related disciplines.
• Assist with plans and schedules and prepare/maintain design procedures and standards to provide quality design documents.
• Interface with stress and pipe support engineers, construction, and suppliers during the preparation of piping designs for the purpose of model/space control, etc.
• Perform coordination review of specifications and other documents prepared by others.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

• Level 1: AA/AS/Cert degree with 3 years of related design experience; or in lieu of degree, 7 years related design experience.
• Level 2: AA/AS/Cert degree with 5 years of related design experience; or in lieu of degree, 9 years related design experience.
• This role requires a facility-specific clearance that requires U.S. Citizenship.
• Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Minimum Qualifications

• Hands-on experience using Revit MEP for piping/plumbing design & drawing generation.
• Knowledge & application of ASME B31.1 and/or B31.3 or application of local codes. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.
