We are currently seeking a Patient Financial Advocate   for our  Patient Financial Services  department. We strive to find someone who has a passion for helping others, has an understanding of hospital revenue cycle processes and the ability to analyze accounts. Job details include, but are not limited to:

• Screen and process Healthcare Assistance (HCA) applications
• Communicate with patients, families, other NMC Departments, and outside vendors
• Responsible for self pay account balances, helping patients and guarantors resolve their financial responsibilities
• Occasionally assist with Charge Analyst duties, which includes entering charges, researching charge issues and following up with departments as needed in order to complete charge corrections
• Knowledge of medical billing and healthcare business office procedures

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous customer service 
• Medical Billing Office or Patient Access experience required
• Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• People person with passion for helping others
• Committed to providing excellent customer service to patients, families, referring physicians and their staff, as well as other NMC employees
• Manage varying duties and multiple tasks
• Organized, self-motivated with strong attention to detail
• Ability to apply common sense and logic in the performance of their job duties
• CPT and ICD-10 coding knowledge preferred
• Mathematic skills required
• Knowledge of IRS documents preferred
• Proficient with computers, learning new software
• 10-key adding machine
• Microsoft knowledge required
• Ability to work in a team environment
