PARK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – DIABLO RANGE DISTRICT / HOLLISTER HILLS STATE VEHICULAR RECREATIONAL AREA / HOLLISTER, CA

The reporting location for this position is the Diablo Range District Office located at Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area in Hollister. This position will work under general direction of the Park Maintenance Chief I.

This position is responsible for the overall Hollister Hills Facilities Program at the Hollister Hills Sector of the Diablo Range District and will manage the following programs: vehicles and equipment, budget, purchasing, Maximo, project management, and water treatment/distribution.

This position is designated as NOT Telework Eligible.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) , this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR

Working Conditions

Typical work activities may involve frequent and prolonged periods of standing and walking. May have moderate exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. May require heavy physical work including lifting, pushing or pulling. Ability to operate and maintain various types of equipment and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner (e.g. ATV, gators, 4WD trucks, chainsaws).

Special Requirements

  • The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.

**Special Requirement/Condition of Employment**Depending on the assigned location, the incumbent may be required to occupy state-owned housing to meet operational needs, or may be offered state-owned housing if available. Housing assignments will be determined in accordance with Department policy, operational priorities, and applicable labor agreements.

A background and/or strong interest in off-highway vehicle recreation is desirable.
