Grey Matters Defense Solutions is seeking a talented and dedicated Oracle Database Administrator.
About the job:
- Grey Matters Defense Solutions (GMDS) is seeking an Oracle DBA to support a major, multi-year project with the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in Centennial, CO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Database Management: Strong knowledge of Oracle Databases including configuration and management of large-scale production databases, including optimizing performance and storage.
- SQL and PL/SQL: Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries, as well as experience with PL/SQL programming for creating and managing views, functions, triggers, stored procedures and managing and maintaining databases.
- Backup and Recovery: Expertise in Oracle RMAN (Recovery Manager) for backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Performance Tuning: Skills in diagnosing and optimizing performance, including tuning queries, indexing strategies, and managing resources like CPU, memory, and storage.
- Upgrades and Patching: Experience in upgrading databases and applying patches to ensure security and stability.
- Data Replication: Experience with creating and maintaining multiple copies of the same data in different locations as a way of ensuring data availability, and reliability.
- Oracle RDS: Experience with managing Oracle RDS in AWS Cloud environment.
- Automation and Scripting: Proficiency in automation scripting using Shell, Python, or Perl for routine database tasks.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
- Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in an agile team environment.
About you: - Bachelor's degree: in computer science, information technology or computer engineering and 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA.
- Certifications: Advanced certifications or courses in database management highly desired.
- Qlik Replicate/Compose: Experience with Qlik Replicate is highly desired.
- Experience in an Agile development environment utilizing tools such as JIRA and Confluence (or comparable tools from other vendors).
- Experience with:
- ETL and Data Modeling
- Oracle Database
- Qlik QDI
- APIs
- Working on government funded programs
Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc. Travel: Up to 10% travel to Norfolk, VA will be required.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or related discipline is preferred.
