Job Description

We are recruiting an OMT / Control Room Operator for Colorado Bend Power Plant located in Wharton Texas. This position will work on a team of personnel dedicated to ensuring power plant efficiency, reliability and safety. Examples of operational scenarios include cold plant startup to emergency operations during plant upsets. Candidates must have strong decision making and leadership skills with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose a variety of complex technical issues. The CRO will use a Distributive Control System (DCS) to operate and monitor plant equipment. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of experience within a Combined Cycle Power Plant Environment. GE 7EA Strongly Preferred

Approved Salary for this role is $91,520 - $108,160 based on education and experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Regularly troubleshoot non-routine and/or escalated technical issues for resolution
• Held accountable for production of work which meets the highest quality standards and advanced technology standards
• Resolve complex technical issues and serve as resource to others
• Ability to self-start, and work under limited supervision
• Regularly provide on-the-job skills training to others in complex technical areas
• Perform chemical analysis and chemical control on steam, cooling and condensate systems
• Ensure compliance with HSE laws and practices, state and federal regulations and local plant procedures
• May operate heavy equipment such as manlifts and forklifts, and handle/transfer bulk chemicals
• Use RedTag PRO for issuing of Lockout Tagouts
• Use test equipment and calibration appliances
• Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and provide input for plant improvement

Required Skills / Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
• Experience with machinery repair and control systems - strong mechanical aptitude required
• Basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity and mathematics
