Position Overview:

The Nutrition Assistant interacts directly with patients to explain prescribed diets, assist with menu selection, enter/change diet orders, and coordinate meal delivery. Collaborate routinely with dietitians and production staff to help meet the nutritional needs of patients. Ensure patient's meal selections are free of food allergens and comply with any dietary restrictions.

What you'll do:

• Explain patient's diets
• Assist with menu selection
• Daily use of Electronic Health Records
• Daily use of Food Service Management system
• Ensure patient/family satisfaction via direct patient interaction
• Maintain departmental policies and procedures of clinical care in accordance with regulatory agencies
• Work collaboratively Nutrition & Dining staff to ensure a safe, quality dining experience
• Effective Communication and demonstration of team-based management
• Is flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities, not noted above

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education - High School Diploma or GED
• Experience - 1 year of food service or nutrition experience, preferably in a healthcare environment
• Licensure - Not required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a healthcare environment

Physical Requirements:

• Standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, pushing, pulling and reaching. May be exposed to areas of extreme heat or cold. Primary work location may include loud noises, wet and slippery conditions, exposure to sharp objects. A licensed ability to drive may be necessary.

Travel Requirements:

• 100% Onsite
