Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU CWR

Location: Red Bank, NJ 07701

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centric care for newborns in a Level II NICU, including the assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing care based on individual patient needs. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, including IV placement, tube feeding management, and the ability to perform various bedside procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient assessments and needs.
• Perform therapeutic interventions and manage the care of NICU patients.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer and manage IVs, tube feedings (NG/OG), CPAP, and other respiratory care.
• Assist with bedside procedures, including UA, UV, chest tube insertion, and more.
• Document care in alignment with standards of care, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Provide evidence-based patient care and advocate for best practices in neonatal care.
• Attend deliveries as the nursery nurse (“baby catching” role) as needed.
• Ensure timely communication with the on-call neonatologist and other healthcare professionals.

Skills & Experience:

• Required:
  • 1+ year of experience in a Level II NICU.
  • Strong IV skills, as no interventional radiology team is available.
  • Experience with bedside procedures including UA, UV, chest tube insertion, and managing CPAP.
  • Experience with tube feeding (NG/OG) and universal transfers.
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR system.
• Preferred: Experience in a Level III NICU, experience attending deliveries.

Education:

• Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN).
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications & Licensure:

• Required:
  • BLS (AHA).
  • NRP (AHA only).
  • Valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.

Language Requirements:

• Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).

Schedule:

• Hours: 36 hours per week, 12.5-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM).
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks.
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per month (varied between Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
• Holiday Requirement: None.
• On-Call Requirement: None.
• Float Requirement: None.
