Job Title: Network Technician
Location: Fredericksburg, VA

Salary: up to $130K

Description:
We are seeking to fill a Network/Systems Engineer position. Requires general knowledge of routing and switching (minimum of Cisco CCNA or equivalent experience), firewalls, site-to-site and remote access VPNs. The candidate shall perform additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems, and attached devices; include investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software. The candidate shall provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems, including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems using knowledge of hardware and software, installation and maintenance in a PC/LAN WAN environment

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of practical experience with a variety of networking products & technologies
• Minimum 5 years hands-on progressive experience with TCP/IP, UDP, and ICMP
• Must have excellent problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of how to troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity and performance issues associated with VPNs
• Must be able to troubleshoot with customers over the phone
• Must be able to troubleshoot computer software and hardware issues.
• Experience creating network diagrams and documentation
• BA or BS degree (or experience in lieu of degree)

One or more of the following is helpful, but not required:

• Microsoft SQL, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft Operating Systems
• system hardening, security best practices,
• scripting languages (Python or PowerShell),
• VMware, virtualization experience
