Join a fast-growing national lender as a valued member of our team! As a Mortgage Loan Underwriter, you will utilize established Conventional, Jumbo, and Government underwriting guidelines to evaluate borrower financial and credit information alongside property valuations to guide lending decisions. Collaborating closely with the production team, you will play a crucial role in bringing loans to closing.

Key Responsibilities:

Underwrite and make decisions on agency conforming, jumbo, FHA, and VA residential mortgage loans.
Verify and analyze all necessary financial information and documentation to ensure loan files are complete with credit and legal documents.
Review appraisal reports to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Conduct thorough analysis of applicant income, expense data, asset documentation, credit reports, and property valuations to confirm borrower eligibility.
Calculate qualifying ratios and assess creditworthiness, providing informed risk opinions.
Qualifications:

Proficiency in underwriting VA, FHA, Conventional, and Jumbo loans.
Minimum of 4 years of underwriting experience.
Experience with FNMA, FHLMC, and Non-Conforming mortgages is a plus.
Knowledge of Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector/Loan Product Advisor (LP/LPA).
Solid understanding of the mortgage lending process.
Ability to perform loan calculations (DTI, LTV, etc.) and prepare findings reports.
Capacity to manage multiple files simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Team-oriented with a mindset for continuous growth.
