A Day in the Life: Material Handling Specialist

Imagine starting your day by contributing to the backbone of our operations by maneuvering freight, stock, and various materials essential to our processes. You play a critical role in loading and unloading materials for the powder coating line, assembling, building, and transporting plows from raw material to finished products.

Throughout your day, you'll be actively assembling and processing fabricated parts, operating and overseeing workstations, and meticulously inspecting every product. You are essential in maintaining efficiency by performing tasks like cutting, bolting, drilling, and assembling within our repetitive manufacturing processes.

Your duties also extend to keeping the work environment pristine and monitoring equipment performance, ensuring safe and smooth operations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, quality checks, adhering to safety measures, and maintaining equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Tag and label materials with identifying information.
• Interpret work orders or receive instructions for assignments or material needs.
• Transport freight and other materials in between storage, production locations, loading docks, etc.
• Conduct finish grinding with manual and power tools.
• Uphold safety and participate in housekeeping activities.
• Inspect components pre- and post-production for quality assurance.
• Meet project deadlines efficiently.
• Document and escalate production issues as needed.
• Engage in collaborative efforts with peers and assist as required.

Minimum Qualifications Required

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable prior involvement in a manufacturing setting.
• Able to sustain prolonged standing periods.
• Capability to lift 50 lbs unassisted.
• Dependable transport means.
• Proficiency in communication, both written and spoken.
• Exceptional detail focus.
• Teamwork as well as autonomous work capability.
