Job Description

As a Machine Sales Representative, your job will be to boost sales and help grow our customer base. You'll promote and sell our machining and fabrication services to both new and current customers. Your main aim will be to meet and exceed sales goals, helping our business grow.

Outside Sales Responsibilities (75%)

• Sell products and services in your assigned area
• Meet or exceed sales goals
• Spend at least half your time meeting customers in person
• Hold online sales meetings using Teams or similar tools if you can’t visit in person
• Find and bring in new customers
• Follow up on all leads and quotes
• Stay updated on changes in your area, like new customers or losing old ones
• Learn what customers need and show them how our products or services can help
• Attend and take part in trade shows when needed
• Make service calls when required
• Solve customer problems quickly and professionally
• Use CRM tools and keep track of sales activities daily

Inside Sales Responsibilities (25%)

• Predict sales for your assigned area.
• Find new leads using all possible sources.
• Make cold calls, follow up on leads, plan visits, and schedule meetings.
• Keep a weekly list to follow up on quotes.
• Build and maintain good relationships with customers and keep records of your interactions.
• Understand and record why some quotes are lost.
• Help with inside sales calls when you have time.

Requirements

• Education: BA technical field or relevant work experience.
• 3–5 years of technical/industrial sales experience (machining experience preferred).

Technical Proficiency

• with machining principles, engineering drawings, and measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers)
• Skilled in common office software and CRM platforms

Additional Requirements

• Self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Able to travel 3–5 nights per week, with occasional air travel and long-distance driving.
• Physical capabilities: lift up to 70 pounds, climb ladders, and sit/stand for extended hours.
• Mechanical & technical aptitude, math skills, including algebra and geometry
