Watermark Books & Café is an established and rapidly-growing independent bookstore and café. We pride ourselves on providing a unique and diverse selection of books, as well as a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for our customers to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. As we continue to expand our business, we are seeking a Junior Creative Designer to join our dynamic team.
The Junior Creative Designer is responsible for assisting our Creative Design team in creating visually appealing and engaging marketing materials, both print and digital, that promote our products and services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, strong creative thinking skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Creative Design team to create visually stunning and effective promotional materials, including social media graphics, flyers, posters, and advertisements.
• Develop and maintain our brand identity through consistent design across all platforms.
• Assist in the production and editing of videos and animations for marketing and social media purposes.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends and design best practices.
• Help manage and maintain design assets and templates for reuse in future projects.
• Proactively contribute new ideas and concepts for marketing campaigns and initiatives.
• Ensure all materials are delivered within set deadlines and adhere to brand guidelines.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Art, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in graphic design, preferably in a fast-paced and creative environment.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and other design software.
• Strong understanding of design fundamentals and typography.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Highly self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Passion for books and the publishing industry is a plus.
